Hi tech & AI enthusiasts, this week's highlights:
Anthropic Just Launched a Design Tool That Turns Prompts Into Prototypes
OpenAI's Codex Can Now Control Your Mac
Gemini Is Now a Standalone Mac App
The Lab: How to Create a Business Website With Claude Design
AI Image of the Week: Earth Day Highland Cow
Let’s get into it.
▲ AI TOOLS

Anthropic launched Claude Design, a tool that creates prototypes, slide decks, and marketing pages from text prompts, screenshots, or codebases. Powered by the new Opus 4.7 vision model.
What you need to know
Builds your brand system automatically: Claude reads your codebase and designs during setup, then applies your brand to every future project.
Multiple ways to refine: Edit through chat, inline comments, direct text changes, or custom sliders for spacing, colour, and layout.
Export anywhere: Hand work to Claude Code as a build-ready bundle, or export to Canva, PPTX, PDF, or HTML.
Key Ideas
▲ Why it matters: Anthropic is closing the loop from first sketch to shipped product inside one ecosystem. With Cowork, browser agents, office integrations, and now design, every layer of the software stack is moving under one umbrella.
▲ AI MODELS

OpenAI released a major update to Codex, its desktop AI agent. It can now use apps on your Mac, create images, remember how you work, and handle ongoing tasks without being asked each time.
What you need to know
Controls your apps directly: Codex sees your screen, clicks, and types with its own cursor. Multiple agents can work in the background without interrupting you.
Learns how you work: The app remembers your preferences, recurring workflows, and tools so it can act on them without repeated instructions.
Repeatable tasks built in: Set up a task once and Codex runs it on schedule.
Key Idea
▲ Why it matters: This is OpenAI's answer to Claude's Cowork and computer use features. The race to build an AI that handles your entire desktop is heating up, and the winner will be whichever agent people trust enough to leave running in the background.
▲ AI TOOLS

Google released Gemini as a native Mac app. Hit Option + Space from any screen and Gemini jumps in based on whatever you are looking at. It includes image creation with Nano Banana and video generation with Veo.
What you need to know
Works from any screen: The keyboard shortcut opens Gemini wherever you are. Share a window and it responds based on what it can see.
Image and video built in: Create images with Nano Banana and videos with Veo, all from the same app.
Free and synced: No subscription required. The app syncs your chat history across desktop, web, and mobile.
Key Idea
▲ Why it matters: Google is putting Gemini one shortcut away from everything you do on your Mac. With ChatGPT, Claude, and now Gemini all offering native desktop apps, AI assistants are shifting from browser tabs to always-on companions.
▲ EVEN MORE NEWS
Other big ideas from the past week.

Midjourney image
▲ Anthropic Ships Claude Opus 4.7: The new model handles long-running tasks more efficiently, verifies its own outputs before reporting back, and sees images at three times higher resolution. Opus 4.7 is separate from the still-unreleased Mythos Preview.
▲ Cavalry Is Now Free: Canva-owned animation and motion design tool Cavalry is now completely free for individual artists, including commercial projects. Previously a paid professional tool.
▲ Chrome Gets Skills for One-Click AI Workflows: Google added Skills to Chrome, letting you save AI prompts as reusable one-click workflows. Type a forward slash in Gemini in Chrome to access your saved Skills or browse a library of ready-made ones.
